Question / Help OBD Duplicating scences

Hiya

I have a couple of scences I use within other screens, one just a border and the other a chroma key camera scene. I am finding that OBS duplicates the scene with the same name all on it's own. It seems to be random but once the scene is duplicated then the camera wont work etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Make sure every capture device source that refers to the same device has the same name, so it isn't really a duplicate but a reference. If they have different names, they duplicate the access to the capture device, but a specific capture device can be accessed from one source at a time only. Remove the duplicated source and add it again manually with the "add existing" option.

A different approach for including a collection of sources as kind of branding to a number of scenes is to use groups instead of using one scene as template. Create your main scene with everything you want in it. Then multi-select every source you want to include in your template, right-click it->"group selected items". Give the group a name. Then add this group with the "add existing" option in your other scenes - everything contained in it is always a reference only, so if you change it in one scene, you change it in every scene, and capture devices are accessed once only as well.

Thanks for the reply. It was more that I was getting unexpected duplicates. In scenes had CAM1 and in the sources for that scene was the camera, a border and filters on the camera. I ended up with two CAM1 in the scenes list? So I thought cant be duplicated...I will rename one of them to Cam2 so I can remove it without affecting anything. When I did that they both changed to CAM2 - so they were indeed duplicates - but OBS wont allow you to duplicate names - wierd!
