Nvidia Shadowplay

So far this program is a joke. You cannot change resolution so on 16:10 aspect ratio monitors you're videos will look like crap because it can only record at 1920x1080 resolution...I cannot believe a company like nvidia thinks that everybody in this world have 1920x1080 monitors.

Beta is beta! But again, it's a hardware capture/encoding solution. Options are always going to be limited.

Try what?

Anyway, Shadowplay through GeForce experience seems to just throw insane amounts of bitrate around to get the higher quality. Another user in chat was using it earlier and it was about 50Mbps for 1080p60fps. This doesn't seem like a viable solution for streaming.

On this topic, what are experiences using this? It'd be great if there was a general forum here to discuss this. AMD Gaming Evolved app just came out as well, which has built in streaming. I'm currently toying around with it, but it looks like it has absolutely zero options in the client to adjust it. Supposedly it uses AMDs version of NVENC, VCE.

It'd be great if VCE was added to OBS just like with NVENC, but there doesn't seem to be anyone with interest around here in doing it. OpenCL has been slow on the uptake too

The Gaming Evolved app is tied in with Raptr too, so there is a lot of crap caked on top of it.

Trying out Gaming Evolved streaming, it seems like it's pretty much crap. There isn't anyway to adjust any of the streaming settings in game or what it's even streaming. No way to adjust bandwidth (it sucks all your upload). I'm pretty sure it's not using VCE either as it causes a huge decrease in performance of the game it's streaming (Planetside 2 for instance). It reminds me of a extremely early version of Xsplit.

You can't even configure the bitrate or resolution on Shadowplay? I hope that's a beta limitation, if not, then its junk no one will use.
