Bug Report nvidia nvenc encoding problem

Hello, i just register specially for write this topic,to the point :

im owner of MSI GF gtx 660 ti with a 1350 cuda cores and when i check out you guys (developers) enable nivdia nvenc encoding in OBS i just need to test this ,yea it is working perfectly when you looking at you processor ussage (amd fx 8350) but i want to notice - stream quality is worst than when i using normal encoder, i mean stream is blurry,pixelate as hell (tested on 720p,1600 bit rate at League of Legends stream) ,while i just turn off nvidia nvenc in obs , everything is ok, i mean quality of stream,stream is not blurry anymore when scrolling mouse or doing any faster action.

On Nvdia shadowplay software it was normal,i mean fine,0 blurry/pixelate effects so there is a question :

Something is wrong with my stream/obs/pc settings or you guys/nvidia (but on shadowplay it everyhing ok) make something wrong?

PS. i tested ALL options in obs,changed everything , nvenc blurrry over and over as hell.

It's largely a factor of what bit rate you set it to. Shadowplay records locally at a high bit rate, but you can't stream at that high of a bit rate. You can't compare local Shadowplay recordings to NVENC stream recordings, because they have different settings behind them. x264 gives better quality at a given bit rate, and that's normal.

So how many bit rate i need to use if i want to use NVENC at HQ/LowBitrate Settings for not blurry/pixelate effect?


This mean NVENC option is just for local records not for live stream or i miss something?

Pretty much, unless you really want to livestream and don't care how bad it looks or have no other alternative.

Ok thanks :) i just wanna give a helpful hand to my processor while streaming ,as you know NVENC taking it on the chest pretty good ;P (cpu usage was fine even without that but if i can try to help my processor,why not try ;P - AMD FX 8350)

Wow, whats the purpose then to use OBS for local? I can use Shadow play for that and it looks amazing (the playback). I gotta tell ya if shadow play comes out with overlay, customization etc its gonna blow away the competition..
