Question / Help NVIDIA Display Driver

Does OBS have a history of causing graphics cards to crash? It feels like that whenever i'm trying to record my races on iRacing, it crashes the card causing a "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" error message in the system tray.

Yes, OBS stresses GPUs in ways they've never been stressed before. This can cause crashing due to overclocks or faulty hardware or old drivers.

Is there a way to counter this? I've tried to lower my graphics settings in the game and the problem still persists. Maybe change my recording settings inside OBS?
