I went to start streaming today (home sick from work with nothing better to do) and i got the error message "Starting the output failed. Please check the log for details. Note: If you are using NVENC or AMD Coders, make sure your video drivers are up to date." I don't know why i'm getting this error message, as I streamed 2 days ago just fine, and there wasn't any driver updates from Nvidia.

I had it set to High before, I don't know why it switched to "High444p" Thanks for the tip. I'll try it later tonight once Diablo downloads

I am getting the same error. For a couple of months, the program worked fine, and I didn't change any settings, but when I tried to start recording last week, it threw this error message and hasn't worked since. (I can upload my log, but to my layman's eye, it looks like the one icecold960 posted.)

When you say "don't use that profile, just set it to High" - what does that mean, exactly? I haven't used OBS enough to be comfortable with it yet - can you tell me what menu options to go through and which fields I need to change?

And thanks. :)

In the OP's case, the Profile, which is a thing in H.264, I suspect needed to be set to High, not High444p.

I think the odds of your issue being identical to the OP's here is remote though. You should make a new thread and post your OBS log file. To get the most out of it, make sure the OBS log you post uses the best settings you've been able to figure out yourself, and contains a stream or recording of at least 5 minutes of high video complexity... i.e. not just standing around in your game, but actively playing it.
