Does Nvenc only do 1 or the other? i have tried to stream and save the stream locally but it seems that only the sound is saved locally? no video is on the local one but on streams fine on twitch.

Yeah, I'm also trying to figure this out at the moment. At one point I know I could record and stream at the same time with nvenc, I'm not sure if a newer version of OBS or the new Nvidia drivers broke it. I'd lean towards the new Nvidia drivers if I had to take a guess, this latest one already caused an issue with LAV Video P0 10-bit playback already, so I don't have much faith that it didn't break other things as well.

The encoder you use will be used for both streaming and encoding. In future versions we'll have options to use separate encoders for recording/streaming, but right now they use the same one.

Huh...that's an interesting feature. OBS never fails to impress me.

That's not really the issue though, I'd have no problem using nvenc for both as long as it worked like it used to. Recently while using nvenc, the live stream goes out just fine, but the recording saved on the harddrive doesn't have any video, just a black screen and the audio.

I've tried Media Player Classic (CCCP) as well as VLC, and tried opening the file in Sony Vegas. There is a video track, but it's just a black screen. Meanwhile my stream on Hitbox.tv and the VODs they save are just fine.

I'm using the latest OBS (0.635b) with the latest Nvidia driver (344.11). I haven't tried rolling back the Nvidia driver, maybe I should give that a shot?

Well, a simple reinstall of OBS seems to have fixed the issue...

Dane71, try uninstalling and reinstalling obs. I didn't even need to clear out the data, all of my scenes and everything were still there, but this little issue was solved.

Edit: NOPE, I spoke too soon. My VODs are messed up again.
