Question / Help NVENC or x264?

So I know that most everybody uses x264 for their streaming, but I was just wondering is there an issue with NVENC? Is it just too difficult to use? It gives me the option to use it, so I was just wondering would it affect my stream or quality? If I do use it, would I have to change my settings?

Hardware encoders like NVENC result into lower quality when compared to x264 at the same bitrate but since its an hardware encoder you obviously use by far less cpu performance.
