Nvenc not showing

hello I have the problem with the encoder at the settings in obs I don't think I win and I have the Nvidia video card

It's because your GPU (NVIDIA GeForce GT 730) doesn't support Nvenc on OBS Studio. You can do nothing about that.

looks like Nvenc support for the M730 was added @ ver 23.0.1 then removed around ver 25-26 according to this video.


perhaps the GT 730 suffered the same fate?

i had an older version of OBS (not sure which) i updated tonight to ver 27.1.3
i've had a GT 730 installed with the older version. i'm getting 'Hardware NVENC' from the pulldown.

did some digging. looks like the early Fermi-based GT 730 (GF108 GPU) don't support NVENC.
the newer Kepler-based GT730 (GK208 GPU) does. you can use GPU-Z to see which you have.

two cards with the same name with two different chips. -_-
i'm curious if OBS can 'see' the difference and allow the Kepler, but block the Fermi.

It cannot, which is why it's on the blacklist.
