Question / Help NVENC and Quick Sync Greyed out

My installation of OBS doesn't offer Quick Sync or NVENC as options, they are there but greyed out. The version of OBS I'm running is 0.638b.

My machine:
Older Core 2 Duo, 3.0 Ghz
Intel DG41RQ motherboard
Intel 128Gig SSD for all applications, games and OBS
GTX 550 ti Superclocked edition (2 Gigabytes on board)
4 Gigs of RAM (DDR II 1333)
2 monitors both running off DVI outputs

2 games primarily I'd like to stream via Twitch are Minecraft and CS: GO. Minecraft actually streams very well with the internal hook to Twitch, so it's not much of an issue. GO is something I'd really like to figure out. I can play GO on pretty high settings, but the minute I go to stream, ping goes up to 180 to 200 and the frames just drop out. I've seen through other posts that NVENC might be a great option but it's not available for whatever reason. Is this just too old a setup to use NVENC or is it something else? Did I install an incorrect version of OBS maybe?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not sure on the requirements for Quick Sync, but for NVENC it's my understanding it's available from Kepler architecture and up, I think your graphics card is based on the older Fermi architecture.

Greaaaat, LOL. So, everything is just a bit out of date and won't work with either. What are my other options at this point to smooth this out. The game plays great with this setup, is a capture card my only other option? I'm not sure about setting up another PC as a recorder, I have a macbook pro that's fairly decent but it's not HDMI, it's display port only, does it need to be HDMI for me to use it?

If you want to use another machine as a recorder, you MUST use a capture card. The displayport port on the macbook is playback only, not capture.

Your options are either upgrade your graphics adapter or upgrade your motherboard, cpu AND ram if you don't want to use a capture card on your other machine.

Any recommendations for a capture card then? I can't spend a ton of bucks but would like to get this working. The 550 has an HDMI out available which should get me into a capture card, if I'm understanding the way it's going to work. The Mac has 16gigs of RAM but only an onboard Intel 3000 video card, so I'm not sure how useful it will be.
