Hi there,

I am quite new to OBS and recording my gaming, but I've been having some issues recently. I play the Sims 4 and I got my new computer in October (specs in lag file). When I filmed my first video as soon as I got my new PC (only base game, expansion packs were still downloading), my captured video turned out amazing. But yesterday I filmed another video, and now the footage is lagging. As you can see by the title, I lost a lot of footage due to lag. My audio continues, but my screen freezes often for large periods of time.

Here is the lag as instructed by this post, but additionally, attached is the latest lag in my obs-studio lag folder.

I was wondering if the footage is now laggy because of additional software I had started downloading to my PC (namely Adobe Premier, Sims 4 Expansion packs and GIMP. To name a few.) or for other reasons. Additionally, would I need to get more RAM, storage or a better graphics card to continue filming at high quality?

I would really appreciate the help and advice.

Thank you

Your CPU is relatively low-performance for being able to both play games and encode footage at the same time. As I can assume adding a lot more content into the sims will take an additional toll on the CPU. This is a laptop processor. The U at the end signifies it's a low voltage kind, encoding 1080p footage is not a task it is designed for.

You could bring down the resolution/bitrate you record at to be able to ensure that the footage you capture is encoding at a acceptable speed.

Using an integrated grahics adapter (as displayed within the log file) is not going to help this in any way. Your "Better graphics card" should be "Actually owning one", but this will absolutely help in any regard. A decent GPU can also be used for video encoding

I am very new to OBS and I have similar problem. After few weeks of trying my stream to youtube it looks nice, but encountered something I don't know. So my stream is fine. I am using 1080p50 hdmi input, my internet upload speed is around 90 mbps, bitrate is about 10000 (sometimes i use 12000). Stream looks fine. BUT after one day when I go back on youtube it looks not so fine, some frames are dropped, sound is very laggy and constantly lags (about 3-5 lags per second). So, it gets bad after being published and after some time. Where I should search for problem?
