Snip does work on my PC. I just get a message that that version doesn't work on this PC and to contact the ones who made it.

Sadly, Snip may be abandon-ware at this point. The author has not answered any posts since mid August and has not logged on to this forum since Sept 27th of last year.

Hii, i was also having the same problem with Snip not working with the new Spotify update. I eventually fixed it. All I did was click the "spotifysetup" which should be where ever you downloaded spotify to. I followed the prompts and no more error message. No uninstalling necessary. I hope this helps.

I simply downgraded to an older version of Spotify for the time being, and Snip works fine.

The issue looks to be that the Spotify update removed the song name from the window title. Until this is put back, there is not much that the dev can do to get that song info (as this is how every tool pulled info from Spotify).

Hello, I appear to be having an issue when it comes to this software.

This always happens when I load Spotify after I load Snip, or whenever I load Snip after loading Spotify.

The solution to this problem is to downgrade spotify to the old version. The post above mine has the link. Snip should work just fine once spotify is downgraded. Here's also a way to make sure that spotify won't upgrade itself.
First you need to be able to view hidden folders. If you can't google is your friend.
Go to C:/Users/<Name>/Appdata/Roaming/Spotify

1. Make a new empy text file
2. Name it Spotify_new.exe
3. Right click the file and make the file read only
4. Make a new empty text file
5. Name it Spotify_new.exe.sig
6. Right click the file and make the file read only

Spotify will not be able to update because it can't delete the files, because they are read only, all future upgrades will fail.
This should ensure both snip and spotify now coexist peacefully.

Hey thanks for the support on helping us fix this issue. I was wondering if you could help me understand this a little better. So i tried what you said above and it tells me that I cant make a new file named "Spotify_new.exe" or "Spotify_new.exe.sig". Is there anyway you could help me here. Do I need to delete the one that is already there in the Spotify folder? Thanks for the help.

Yes you should delete the ones already in there. If those are already in your folder then that's the newest update waiting to install itself. Your best bet may be to uninstall spotify completely, then install the previous version that works with snip. Before launching spotify again add the files I mentioned and make sure they're read only. This should solve your problem.

This recently happened. I've been using Snip for the longest and today i updated some stuff and this happened. Anyone know how to fix it? I think it may because of the new spotify update still not sure.

I can confirm that after installing the 12/03-2015 Spotify update, snip no longer works and gives me the exactly same error.

Spotify just got an update. I guess we have to wait untill someone updates Snip
