Question / Help Notebook as "Streaming PC"

Hey guys,

I'm just wondering if I should buy a notebook for streaming since I have an AMD config (8350) and it's not strong enough to handle obs and game together. I'm playing fps games and the input lag is just killing me, thats why I need a streaming machine.

What I need is:
~ a notebook with some strong cpu since my upload speed is just terrible / want to go around medium x264 preset to get a decent quality on ~ 1500kbps

Pros:
~ I already have capture card (Avermedia LGP Lite)
~ Its mobility is great / built in keyboard, display, mouse
~ less space

Cons:
~ It's expensive

So what kind of notebook cpu would u suggest? Thanks for your help in advance!

Notebook usually refers to a cheap, small and not very powerful laptop and that isn't something you can really use for streaming. Laptops in general are not recommended for streaming due to issues with dual-GPU setups but if you really want one look for one that has an okay GPU and an i7 (quad core).

What kind of i7? There are 2,3,4,5 generation cpus out there.

Honestly, you'd probably end up being happier with upgrading your current desktop using the sizeable amount of money it takes to buy a portable computer with enough power to stream reliably with a medium present. I mean maybe you can find a used gaming laptop or a high end workstation one that has enough muscle but even that is kind of doubtful.
Also if you attempt to use a LGP lite especially in any way where you need to sync your webcam to the audio/video, you're going to have a bad time, it just sucks due to being USB 2.0 (and the horrible stream engine software sure doesn't help) . Source: I have one gathering dust after attempting to use it. Any USB 3.0 device should give you better results if you insist going portable.

Actually I'm totally fine with my PC atm. I can run every game I want, however streaming even on 30fps will cause some input lag and stuff, which is a very bad thing for me. I have to use really low bitrate because of my upload speed, otherwise I'll lag. Atleast in CSGO, since the netcode of the game is a humongous crap. So I really have to use lower preset, just to get a decent quality on ~1500 bitrate. H1Z1 is an other thing. The game is running on low fps without streaming.

So any other advice than buying a second pc/notebook? I'm totally fucked up with this, can't find the balance between the quality and fps.

Well actually I suffer from the same problem, in fact currently I'm completely unable to stream with my upstream being limited to ~1000kbps. I've actually been considering and even preliminarily experimenting with using a separate internet connection dedicated to streaming. If you have LTE coverage in your area that may be something to consider too I guess.

I doubt you can find any laptop, even a so-called desktop replacement model, that will run OBS at medium preset at a decent resolution or enough to make up for a low upload speed.

First, you have to solve your upload speed problem. No amount of compression available with today's technology is going to allow 1000kbps look good. Second, you need to give up on the idea that a laptop can do the job as a dedicated streaming PC. Get a desktop CPU or don't even bother.
