Hello, my name is Tyler. I am fairly new to broadcasting as I only picked it up to help a local business with some streaming of tournaments they hold.
I installed several dedicated outlets along with Cat5 jacks - installed the cameras [2] of them and got the networking figured out.
But what I have yet to figure out; when switching between two different cameras providing different angles of the same event, within' OBS there is a black screen and say a... 2? second delay with a black screen before the video is back.
I am using them imported as a VLC stream via... RTP? I am not near it but it sounds correct.
So I suppose my question is; should I be importing them as a different source? Is it the network causing the delay? I do not have any RS232 cables between them they are strictly on the network; it is a 200Mbs connection that is no where near limited and the laptop being uses is no where near a bottleneck for this application.
I'd like to think I'm a few settings away from getting rid of this issue; I just don't know what they are. I am unexperienced enough to where I don't even know the correct questions to be asking.
To be clear, there is no delay on them as I view them both in VLC. The only delay is when I change media sources within' OBS where I am greeted with a black screen for several seconds before it "catches it" .
Any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
