Question / Help (not using laptop) OBS black screen

Hello everyone,

I recently downloaded the latest version of OBS (0.554 beta) and followed a few tutorials on how to make it work for livestreaming. However, whenever i click on "preview stream" it shows a black screen and can't make it work.I have managed to make it work once, but i don't know what is it i did that time that made it work, as it is still showing the black screen.

(I'm not using a laptop) I use windows 7 64 bit, with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460. The capture card i'm using is a dazzle DVC 100, recording footage from wii and ps3. (The dazzle capture card comes with Pinnnacle instant dvd recorder software, i'm not sure if that affects obs somehow)

If someone can help out me with this, i'd greatly appreciate it.
