Hello,
I'm running an Intel Core i3-2100 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz Dual-Core, and for graphics I have a GeForce 9800 GTX+. Will I have any problems while gaming and using this software? Should I give it a shot or not? I just want to be able to record a match while i'm actually playing it, and maybe stream in the future. Don't want to be a ton of strain on the system if possible. Any idea's and thought would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

OBS is probably the least system intensive streaming software i have used. I switched from XSplit and i love it. I say give it a shot and if you don't like the results just simply not use it anymore. But me i will never use anything else again.

ok thanks, Yeah my cousin has a similar system and he was recording a match and said that he was getting lower FPS in game and I watched a short recording and it was jumping around so I want some other input tho!

It differs from whaat internet connection do you have. I have an old 8600GT and E2180 processor and I am able to stream the Source engine benchmark above 30FPS all the time at 480p while playing it windowed @ 720p. My connection is 3.5 Down and 0.5 Up what is pretty shitty, but if you've got better upload, like 2Mbps or more i see no trouble with streaming it because you've got better PC than me :)

Yeah, I see no trouble in streaming with 800-900 bitrate. If you want to only record it, it'll be even easier because your bitrate is unlimited and you can go for example with 5000 bitrate.

1 mb/s is not 1 mbps which is about 120 kb/s. I know this is confusing but most providers give you the information of bits per second and not bytes per second!

800 kbit/s should be around max he should use on a 1 mbps connection since x264 will utellize more than the set bitrate quite often. It's not a hardcap what you might think. With 950 he will over his 1 mbps connection quite some times...

I made the experience that you should never go above 80% of your upload speed ohh and you have to account the distance & ping to your streaming provider. As for Twitch you won't even get half of your upload speed to most of the servers. always use the one with the lowest ping (google jtvping) which will mostly be the nearest to you. Another note that Twitch don't recommends going over 4K upload bitrate.
