Not Seeing Any “Closed Captions (experimental)”

When I enable the Closed Captions (Experimental) feature from the Tools menu, when and how do I see a result?

Are there setting involved that I am not seeing in the window that pops up?

Are the captions stored in a particular file type?

NOTE: I tried using Google Captions plugin I found on this forum, but see ZERO evidence of results with that either.

So far I am only able to see the captions while viewing my live stream and selecting the captions option of the streaming service, i.e. YouTube or Twitch

That's how it's supposed to work. You can preview what its outputting word wise with the Google cloud captions plugin, but you're not going to see it across the bottom of your preview.

If you use the google cloud caption plugin you can set it to output to stream, recording, or stream and recording in it's settings

i am aware of that, and I get no indication of captioning working at all.

Starting to think it has to do with my Dell laptop having an AMD processor....

That was a recording. set it up exactly like I did it, I cannot break this down any easier. it turns on when you start recording

I see this thread is a couple years old, I just started using OBS to record some VHS tapes to my computer and was unaware of this option. Is there an easy way to add captions to a video I already recorded using OBS?
