Hi,
I know that this problem isn't OBS related at all but it is a clean example of what is going on with my pc. If this thread is beyond the scope of the forums or mods want to delete it, i understand completely. That said I really appreciate any extra info/help.
It seem that my GPU turns off when its been used in a certain way. Normal windows use is totally fine but watching videos/benchmarking/starting games or even after launching OBS monitor loses signal. I think because the GPU turns off.
OBS launched with a window capture selected but no game running. Now my question is, does OBS do anything specific at the start that might help me narrow the problem at all ?
This all started after my PSU Antec Truepower had a fan failing. It made a huge noise, clank clank... So I turned computer off normally and took it off the wall. After few day I got the PSU I ordered and when launching a game the monitors lost signal. So I started troubleshooting it, I had the GPU (GTX 970) tested in another computer with no problems and I tested a very old GTS250 in my, all worked ok. CPU stressing had no problems. So I thought its the PSU, new part, that is faulty and sent it back.
After getting the replacement computer kept going the same thing, so the first PSU was fine after all. At this point I ran memtest, no errors, reinstalled windows, problem continued. After going this over with ASUS tech support the idea was that its the motherboard that is faulty, so I went and bought a new ASUS prime z270-K. Feeling confident that its was fixed now, but it wasn't...
So after weeks and spending money for the MB that I really could have used elsewhere I am without ideas. Any ideas or thoughts.... Thank you for your time.
I bought this computer over a year ago, antec PSU was older so I could upgrade the CPU
