Question / Help Not able to import to Power Director 12?!?

Hello,

I'm looking to record locally footage of video gaming.

What I need to know is what settings will give me at least a 720p quality video for youtube, and also be able to import to Power Director 12.

I was able to import one file into PD12 before I messed with the settings a guide told me would increase the quality of my videos. Now when I import the files to PD12 it just crashes.

The only thing I can tell by the properties of the files is that the first sample video has a much smaller bitrate.

I'm at work now, but I will post screen shots of my settings menu.

Thank you for any help you all can provide!

Possible lack of codecs is the most likely blame. Make sure you have h264 and AAC codecs installed. If that doesn't work, then it's possible the program itself does not support the codecs at all.

Those are the settings I believe to be important with screen caps below. Anything I'm doing wrong with these?

I installed a version of the h264 codec. Could not find a reputable source for the AAC codec however.

Set your bitrate to 1000, activate custom buffer and set it to 0.
In the advanced settings activate use CFR. That should correctly use the quality you set as a custom encoding setting and CFR helps most video editing software to work with the video. I unfortunately never used PD12 so I cant really say more.
