Question / Help None of my encoders fix the frame drop on my recordings.

I used to have windows 8, but due to really bad internet connection I upgraded to windows 10, I play Roblox and since I upgraded, the framerate went haywire, it took me a long time to realise that the encoder is wrong, I've tried all the encoders, uninstalled and reinstalled the software. Nothing I want to know how to get a better encoder. I have an Alienware so I don't think memory is a problem. Thanks

You should have 3 choices for an encoder on that machine:
  • x264 (CPU)
  • Intel QuickSync
  • NVENC
Your log doesnt include a streaming or recording session so I can't tell which one you're using now or why you're having a problem with it.

Also, current version of OBS is 23 and your copy of WIndows is also out of date.

oh yeah, here are the encoders I currently have:

Yup. So that's the Nvidia encoder (NVENC) with two choices for OBS code to use them, the new and the old.

QuickSync is using the Intel integrated GPU, and x264 is using your CPU.

There's no recording or streaming attempt in your log, but you should test each of those encoders to see which works best for your machine.

There is also the Auto-Configuration Wizard available in the Tools menu.

yeah, I have already said I tried all the encoders but none of them shows perfect frames. the auto wizard made it worse, the windows settings were already off, my youtube channel is getting inactive since I upgraded to windows 10, I just don't know what to do. My original question was: 'is it possible to get more encoders?'

Short answer: no.

Long answer:

OBS shows you all the encoders your machine can run. You could get access to a better encoder by upgrading to a newer Nvidia card.

The only encoder for OBS that exists that you don't already have access to is the AMF encoder, which only works with AMD graphics cards, and for most applications, NVENC is better anyway.
