Problem: I run OBS 32bit or 64bit. No window is shown. The process exists in task manager until force closed. Using process hacker to activate the window says the window doesn't exist. No log files are created to troubleshoot.

My specs:

  • OS: Win 8.1 x64
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor OC to 4.2GHz
  • CPU Cooler: Phanteks PH-TC14PE_RD 78.1 CFM CPU Cooler
  • Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
  • Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GBDDR3-1866 Memory
  • Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State
  • Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
  • Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Classified 3GB Video Card
  • Case: Corsair 500R White ATX Mid Tower Case
  • Power Supply: Corsair HX850 Professional 850W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
It should be noted that OBS ran fine before. I hadn't streamed in a while and went to launch it and ran into this. I've uninstalled it and cleaned out any settings related to the program I could find and reinstalled. Same issue. OBS Studio runs fine. Not sure what the problem could be. Any ideas?

Are you running the latest GPU drivers? Is your DirectX up to date? Are you running another program that interferes with video capture, like FRAPS or one of those Razer utilities?
