Question / Help No Video

I have an issue trying to get the video to work. I have an older Sony DSR-PD170 camera that I have connected to a laptop running windows 7 that I use for capturing video through the firewire using an older program called DV Capture that works fine. However, the OBS software does not seem to see the video, but appears to getting the audio. Any suggestions what might be the problem.

If camera doesn't support directshow, then only solution is capture card + video output of the camera.

Since the camera works fine in the DV capture software called WinDV I would assume it should work in this as well. Is there a way to verify the ability to support directshow?

By asking manufacturer, usually.

Can you pick up the camera in the Device list of the 'Video Capture Device' properties? If it is possible, then - Please post a log with your issue! Here's how...
