New to OBS and the forum. Been scouring everything trying to find an answer to my OBS Video Capture problem, but getting no joy. Figured it was time to post it to the group. It's probably a super simple resolution, but it is just eluding me.
Simply put, I'm getting no video at all with the Video Capture Device.
I am using a Macbook Pro (2012) with macOS Mojave 10.14.6. I verified with the system requirements, and the OpenGL on the on board GPU (NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M), per NVidia's site, says this runs OpenGL 4.1, which is just above the minimum 3.3. Unless I'm reading that wrong, my system passes requirements.
I initially was trying the Iriun Webcam for Mac, v2.4, and I could get the image in the Iriun window from my old Galaxy 5 and my iPhone XR, but no joy in OBS. I added and deleted scenes, tried different settings, restarted the app, rebooted...nothing.
I also tried the onboard webcam, still no joy. I know it works because I was able to bring it up in Photo Booth, but when I select it in OBS, no image / video.
I was about to buy a new webcam, thinking that it just didn't like either the onboard webcam or the Iriun Webcam, but the guy at BestBuy said that it is probably OBS because I was able to get the image in the Iriun window.
The other things in OBS work; I got the Window Capture to work and the Mic/Aux works great. I have multiple audio interfaces and it likes them all, even simultaneously!! This is actually fantastic because I can use them all if I wanted to stream a live band with multiple microphones / inputs quite easily!! Only...no...freakin'...video. Grrrr.
BTW: When I go into the Video Capture Device settings, the display shows a gray box with a small dot on the bottom in the center of the window. If you mouse over it, it changes the cursor to resize the window, which it will do. Only, if you scroll too much, or if you hold it with your mouse and drag out of the window, OBS will crash! Apple brings up a page of "Problem Details and System Configuration", which I saved to a .txt file (attached).
At my wits end. What am I missing?
