No System Sound

I am running OBS 27.0.1 [64-bit] Windows. I would like to play two MP4 files clips which I extracted from a much longer file and make comments by using a webcam image in a little window. When I play the files in OBS there is no System Sound. When I play the files in Windows Media Player, on the same PC, there is sound, so the problem does not seem to be caused by either the file or the speaker.

My Audio Settings are approved by the Auto Configuration Wizard. The general settings are 48 kHz, Stereo, and for Global Audio Devices: Desktop Audio Speakers (High-Definition Audio Device).

The MP4 files are on my desktop. When I drag and drop them into OBS they play but there is no sound. What should I do in order to generate sound?
 
During play of the file(s) there should appear an according audio track in the obs audio mixer with meters moving.
Right mouse-click into that track and go into advanced...
There you can switch from "output only" to "monitor+output".
