Are you sure your camera's USB interface passes sound? A recent major camera manufacturer's USB webcam utility explicitly states it doesn't support sound (assumes your are using camera for quality video, therefore you'd be using a dedicated, not the built-in, microphone)

- and clarify you camera setup. Also, make sure you don't have an overloaded USB hub (
Beware connecting more than one Camera or Audio device per USB root hub (Root hub is the hub on the mainboard )
you may have an USB bandwidth problem if you use too many devices on the USB root hubs !
Someone else recommended USB Device Tree Viewer to check how many usb root hubs do you have with this program. There may be other/better... I don't know
