Bug Report No sound with Elgato GameCapture HD (and other problems)

I'm new to OBS, and really would like to use it - but it doesn't work with my Elgato GameCapture HD. It starts when adding the device to OBS. The properties for the device doesn't show up when I click on it in OBS. It worked before, but just with the Properties-Button for audio settings. All the options there where grayed out and not selectable/changeable. So it's impossible to switch the input from Xbox 360 to PlayStation 3, even if I change it within the Elgato Software it has no effect on OBS.

When I record my Xbox 360 via this setup, the video is very good, but there is no sound. I tried all the input devices for sound, tried output to desktop and to stream, but nothing helped. The stream is always silent. Maybe that's because it's an usb device or because the audio comes via hdmi, but I have no clue what else to try to get it to work...

Didn't add a log file cause there is nothing to see there. It's the current version of elgato software and also from OBS.

That shouldn't be the case, others who use the elgato play sound just fine -- is the device's audio output selected in the source properties?

ok I'm such an idiot. When you go to load the Elgato into OBS, for the Audio part, use "Use Device Audio" for some reason that works. If you select "Elgato Game Capture HD" it doesn't work for some reason for audio

I found a solution to it. You just go to the Elgato Game Capture HD's properties after using the capture card as the Video Capture Device screen, and select "Output audio to desktop," and then click OK. If done correctly, you should be able to hear the audio from your Elgato capture card.
