I don't really know where to post this, and I don't feel like it is a bug with OBS, but maybe someone can help me.

When streaming BF3 for some reason the sound doesn't come through the stream. With all other games the sound comes through fine. I can hear the game sounds in my headset fine, everyone watching can hear everything else fine, but not the BF3 sounds. I don't really even know what to try to do to fix it

You say headset.. USB headset by any chance? Sometimes certain USB headsets can cause this sort of thing to occur, and you end up having to set your default desktop sound to the headset and such

No, I have a Xonar DGX with Denon AHD-2000 headphones running through it. It is the default sound device as well, and all sound goes to it.

I have the same issue with a Xonar D2X. This is probably due to how the audio driver works with certain DirectSound streams. I noticed that the game audio does not go through the Windows Mixer, but instead seems to be going straight to the sound card, which means OBS is unable to capture it. The only solution I could find so far was to use either Wave or Stereo Mix as the audio input, but then I won't be able to capture my microphone (unless I enable monitoring, which is kind of annoying). OBS has to support multiple audio sources or find a way to capture DirectSound audio streams.

I came to a similar conclusion last night when I tried to stream music with Win Amp, which didn't show in the windows volume mixer and didn't stream. I hadn't checked BF3 yet to see if it did, but I figured that was it.

Anyone else have any good suggestions for a work around?
