Question / Help No sound when recording

As title says. Im using OBS Studio, the mixer indicates its getting sound via desktop audio, mic & Video capture but when playing back there is no sound at all. I have seen people mention something about changing from MP3 to ACC as MP3 doesnt work with MP4. If this is the fix then how do I do that? I've tried to find it but cannot figure it out.

I must inform you due to the capture device I am using I have to run OBS Studio 0.14.1

Any help is appreciated.

It's not the fix. Studio defaults to AAC audio output.
Windows media player, however, is known to have HORRID media format support (15 years of history of this).

Use VLC to check your recordings.

This is all ignoring that saving directly to mp4 isn't a good idea.

Im not using windows media play to play it back though. Im using the built in "Films & TV" player.

Could you explain to me why recording in MP4 is not a good idea? Does it not save space? I mean its usually better for youtube videos aint it?

"Films & TV" is basically a re-branded windows media player. Especially when it comes to media format support.

And no, mp4 isn't better for youtube videos, and no it doesn't save space.
If an mp4 doesn't get finalized properly, it becomes completely useless. Save to FLV instead.
