Question / Help No sound when recording

Hi, i'm completely new to OBS so i appoligise in advance if i'm doing something wrong but i can't get the sound to record during screen capture. The little sound bars at the bottom of OBS jump around to the sound but it's not there when i replay my recordings. Could someone give me a bit of advice please?

Film's and TV. I think it must be the default media player for windows 10? Only just started using it.

Your'e a star Harold, it works! Does that mean when i upload my videos to youtube the sound will be ok, its an issue with Windows media player?

Generally, if vlc will play it properly, youtube will too.

Just be careful of video editing software that doesn't have proper format support.

Thank you! Are there any editing software packages that you would recommend? All i'll need really is a cropping feature. I've got Avidemux installed at the moment. I'm trying to use the mp4 format too.

Avidemux should be fine.

And do NOT save directly from OBS into mp4 format.
If the encoding process terminates in a non-graceful manner, the entire mp4 is corrupted.

No it's not because of OBS. It's because mp4 was poorly designed.
