No Signal - Elgato 4K60 MK.2

I just put together an all Intel system. I have 14500 CPU, A770 GPU, and 32GB DDR5 RAM.

I added an HDMI cable from my gaming PC to the input of the Elgato
Then I connected the output of the Elgato on my 4K TV (HDMI 2.1)
Lastly I connected my Intel system to my monitor (HDMI)

I then added the 4K60 MK.2 to Sources, it shows up as "Game Capture 4K Pro MK.2" device

But when I try to record video, it shows a plain watermark of Elgato with a No Signal message.

I have watched a couple videos on setup, and it just won't record anything.

Since I have Intel, I use AV1 encoding with MP4.

I tried to change as few options as I could, but here is my output log:

Let me know if I need anything else?

Thanks for any help

This usually happens on my HD60 X when the resolution or frame-rate is not correct in the options. If your gaming PC is outputting at 3840x2160 then you need to change the resolution from 1920x1080 to 3840x2160.

Also change your base resolution from 3841x2160 to 3840x2160.

OK, I think it is working now. I forgot my new monitor is a 1440p monitor. So, I turned off my gaming rig, then plugged in my office laptop (4K) and now it shows video on my Intel system.

Now maybe I can make some progress.

Thanks for the help.

OK, I messed up. I have only a 1920x1200 laptop. It defaults to 1920x1080p when connected to the Elgato input and works fine.

I then switch back to my 4k gaming rig, I get no signal again. I also have my 4k monitor plugged into my gaming rig.

What OBS setting do I need for recording 4k gaming? I've tried many options and no signal still, no matter what I do.

EDIT:

My gaming rig is all AMD (7800X CPU, 7900 XTX GPU, and 64GB RAM)

EDIT 2:

I also tried setting my AMD rig to 1920x1080 and still no signal. I even use the Elgato 4k Capture utility and still no signal with elgato logo.

When your gaming PC is connected to the Elgato, it should also show up as a second monitor on your gaming PC. The resolution on that monitor and the resolution in the "Game Capture 4K Pro MK.2" device in the OBS source settings should be 3840x2160.

Correct, I already have then as duplicated in display settings.

Do you know the name of the setting in the "Game Capture 4K Pro MK.2" that should be 3840x2160? I have it under "Resolution".

Above that, there is a "Resolution/FPS Type:" and I leave it at "Custom" setting.

There is an an option for "FPS" and I have it set to "Match Output FPS"

I am not sure what else to do?

The FPS in the settings should be set to the same thing as the refresh rate shown in Windows for the duplicated display.

OK, I just set the duplicated displays in win11 (my gaming rig), to 60Hz (Display1: Dell S3221QS and Display2: 4K60ProMK2VRR)

Then in OBS I make sure my Device "Game Capture 4K60 Pro Mk.2" I set Resolution/FPS Type to "Custom" then "Resolution: 3840x2160", Then FPS to 60. to make sure they all match.

Still no signal.

I seem to be missing some setup info somewhere still? I'm just not sure where?

Here's my current log file uploaded:

I want to thank you again for your help.
