I'm on a laptop with NVIDIA, I changed the settings as stated in the first post, at first it didn't work but after a bit of opening and closing OBS it worked, recorded for a coupple of hours, now that I open it again I see again the black screen... https://obsproject.com/logs/9oisBlje3AhtOHdn here's the log, let me know what the solution could be. Thanks!

Display capture doesn't work when OBS runs on the nvidia. It needs to run on the integrated GPU
Hello.
In my case(Laptop + docking station + 2 external monitors + Win 10Pro 64 bit + Nvidia GeForce 940MX) neither of the integrated or video card selection works when attempting to capture video from any of the external monitors AFTER upgrading to 22.0.2 version performed a few days ago.
Other options work, browser, game or window capture.
I noticed a thin red border being displayed in all cases that work but nothing similar is visible for display capture, at most I can see something like a red dot that disappears as soon as I click on it.
I have the kit for the previous version that worked flawlessly and will probably use it if I won't receive any relevant help.
Thank you.

Hello.
I noticed a thin red border being displayed in all cases that work but nothing similar is visible for display capture, at most I can see something like a red dot that disappears as soon as I click on it.
The problem disapeared after several restarts of the app, all of a sudden the red border had the size of the screen and inside the part of the screen I wished to capture became visible...

...and 2 years later I'm plagued by the same issue, after upgrade to ver. 26.0.2 (64bit) and using the same above setup I can't capture anything from displays...only capture from a certain browser works but that's not how I typically use OBS...and new discoveries on this topic?
Thank you.

...and after discovering and applying this:
"Open Settings and search for "Graphics Settings". Select "Classic App" and browse to C:\Program Files\obs-studio\bin\64bit\obs64.exe (or wherever you have installed OBS). Click "Options "
things are back to normal but WHY? So far things were OK with settings in the Nvidia Control Panel, 3D settings, what changed in this new version?
