No Pause Recording in MAC OBS

Our Church has recently started to use OBS to record and eventually to stream our services. At home I'm using a PC with OBS to learn how to drive it but at Church we are using a MAC.

At home when recording, there is a 'Pause' button on the PC version but on the MAC, there is no 'Pause'

Other that using or setting up Hot Keys, can I enable a 'Pause' for the MAC?

tbh this confused me too when I first started. The pause button only shows up after you hit Start Recording, it's a small icon right next to the Stop Recording button in the Controls panel. Really easy to miss if the dock is narrow. Make sure you're running a recent version too, anything 24.0 or later should have it on Mac.

No, doesn't appear at all on the MAC version, even when recording

Go to Preferences/Settings > Output > Recording > Encoder and select an option that isn't "(Use stream encoder)". Then press "Start recording" and the pause button should show up.
