no pause option/feature in obs studio

why isn't there a pause option/feature in the obs studio now what has happened with that and why has it been removed from the app

The "Pause Recording" controls available only for local recordings and only for limited number of encoding techniques and settings. Thus, something like Output Mode: Simple, Encoder: High Quality, Medium File Size (not "Same as stream"!) - and controls will appear again. Yeah, better to have disabled controls in UI (with a hint) rather than hiding options completely.

so how do i get that back then

It seems that you need to open OBS main menu File > Settings > Output and set encoding options mentioned above.

I managed to resolve the issue with the no pause feature
