Question / Help No Game Sound When Streaming PS4, Using Elgato and Headphones

Hey a friend of mine is having issues with getting game sound to come through on their stream while they're using a headset

They're streaming their PS4 using the Elgato through their PC.

Basically when the headset is unplugged the game audio comes through on stream fine, but when the headset is plugged in it stops working. Any ideas how to fix this?

is your friend using an optical output to their headphones? I have optical to my astro A50s and hdmi sound to my capture card. Headphones and stream gets audio.

So I am having literally the exact same issue and don't know what you mean by optical ouput. Could you perhaps elaborate on this more? Right now I have my Turtle Beach hooked up to my PS4 with the USB outlet. Thanks.

Now in hind sight i doubt it had anything to do with an Optical output (Optical cable). Its basically a cable for digital sound through light. So the problem is most likely with your settings when using your USB headset. Make sure your ps4 and Elgato settings are set to pick up sound from your headset.
