So I tried recording csgo today, experienced no lag as usual, but when I watched the recordings they were all choppy, unwatchable pieces of garbage
My system has:
Intel I7 6700 @3,6GHz
16Gb 3200MHz ram
Nvidia GTX 1060(6Gb)
I usually get anywhere between 250 and 300 fps in csgo
I even tried recording it at 1500CBR default profile 30fps and it still got the error message
Has anybody got an idea as to why?

Have you checked whether you're recording with x264 or NVENC? As from my point when i used to try recording with x264 (which was default, i had no other encoder), i was recording games (0 lag or fps drops) yet the recording was like 5 fps. That happened to me because OBS was not utilizing my CPU at all, and as soon as i set OBS's process priority to high, the game (CS GO) dropped from 150 to 50 fps and recording was much smoother.

Make sure to use NVENC, better than utilizing your cpu instead. I'm no professional at this, but i'm trying to help a bit.

(and also, what everyone searches for, it's better for you to post the log file and let the other professionals check it out and solve your problem).

Thank you for your reply!
I did try NVENC and there is still a problem...(i'm mad)
now the recording itself seems fine at first but every now and then it just freezes for about half a second, then goas on normally
