Question / Help "No device" OBS not working with Elgato

I've already checked some of the other related posts and tried plugging into different usb ports, as well as restarting PC, and uninstalling/reinstalling Game Capture HD several times. If I open Game Capture, everything loads up fine as it appears on my tv (connected to a wii u). After setting up a video capture for elgato in OBS I get "no device" when I go to preview stream. If I right click on my elgato source in OBS and go to properties > configure, a little game capture window pops up where I should be able to change my input to Wii U, however in that window it's also saying there's no capture device found. Another thing to mention, I was pretty sure I tested this a couple of days ago and it was working with OBS (again, not 100% sure on this, I might have just been recalling seeing the footage through game capture) but then I went and downloaded a different version of OBS with CLR browser already installed, I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it.
