Question / Help No audio?

OBS is having some problems lately, whenever I try to record a video, the visuals capture but the audio doesn't. There is nothing wrong with my microphone or speakers, in fact they sound great over skype. When I am recording, both the speakers audio bar and the microphone audio bar moves, but when I look back at the video, it does not play sound. I can visually see the video and my encoding is fine. I have tried everything I could, please help! :-)
 
Aha! VLC did work, I'm not sure as to why windows media player wouldn't though...
Also, if it didn't work on Media Player, will it still have sound as a YT video?
 
Yes, VLC solved this problem for me as well.... but it still doesn't solve the problem of not being able to edit my videos with sound. How do I get the sound to work in video editing software?
 
Usually by either getting better video editing software or by extracting the audio track from the file and preparing it in audacity.

Other users do not have the problem I am having... and are using the same editing software as I am (which is lightworks).
Even if I'm streaming while recording, it will cause my stream to not have sound either, so I doubt the editing software is the only problem.
