Question / Help No Audio Without OBS Open

Hey so i have installed OBS and did the wizard option for recording.

In audio settings i have set Monitoring Device from default to my bluetooth headphones

in advanced audio properties i have set Audio Monitoring to Monitor and Output.

Now no audio will play, at least not to my bluetooth headphones, unless the OBS program is open. And the audio is distorted somehow anyway so...how do i restore sound to my headphones, and not bad quality audio? please help

also if i reset these settings back to their default options, it does nothing

nevermind, obs changes the audio output device in windows when you install it maybe?

This is a limitation of Bluetooth headsets. To fix this, you can either switch to a wired headset, don't use the Bluetooth headset's mic, or set your sound to go through the HFP device for your headset (at a cost of lower quality).
