Hi all,
Sorry an amateur here... I recently started converting some family tapes into digital. I'm using Dazzle DVC100 for video capturing. For some reason, it doesn't capture the audio. I think it's related to the drivers but it was too much hassle to find the right drivers for windows 10. So I'm using EasyCap device for audio only (because EasyCap doesn't capture the colours in the video which is why I bought the Dazzle).
This side project is just for the family, so the quality doesn't really matter that much as long as we can see and hear what is in the old tapes, because nobody has a tape player anymore. But there are some scenes in the tapes, where the person speaking is a bit far away from the camera, the volume is very very low even with the highest audio settings on my laptop.
So I tried increasing the volume both from "Advanced Audio Properties" and adding a "Gain" filter. When I increase it by like 15-20db the audio is much better on the laptop ONLY while recording, but the actual captured video doesn't have any audio when I play it back! I can see whenever I increase more than 3.1db the audio bar goes quiet. I marked the bit I'm talking about in the images. And here is my log;
Can anyone advice on how to increase this audio correctly? Any input is much appreciated. Thank in advance!
