windows 10 running obs studio 28.1.1 64 bit
I've been testing obs as a live webcam on some websites and audio is missing when I play a video file.
I use google chrome and went into settings and noticed under microphone permissions obs was not there. obs was however present under camera permissions.
does the obs virtual camera driver not include audio?

It does not. There have been several requests about it, but so far nothing has been done.

In the meantime, you need a separate loopback for audio, that is fed from OBS's Monitor. How to do that depends on the operating system, but on Windows, a lot of people seem to like VB Cable:
Install that, and you get a virtual speaker and a virtual mic. Send OBS's Monitor to the virtual speaker, and it'll appear in the virtual mic. Keep in mind that you're using the *Monitor* from OBS and not the main Output. That can be confusing too.
If you need several channels of separate loopback, you can scroll down that page and get two more pairs, for a total of 5 unique audio loopbacks.

If you need some processing in between - split and mix, EQ, etc. - with up to 3 virtual speakers, 3 virtual mics, and 5 physical devices in each direction, then you can look at Voicemeeter:
Those virtual devices are separate still, from the 5 above, for a total of 8 if you really needed that.

thankyou for your response and I have installed VB Cable.

sorry this has got me scratching my head. where exactly does one send obs' monitor to the virtual speaker? I've been looking all over obs and can't see where this should be done. I don't need several channels, just need to get audio working on the video I'm sending out., thanks

Select the virtual device here, in the same list as the physical ones:

And send it something here:

Output is the stream and recording, via the Tracks selection here. Simple mode is Track 1 only.
Monitor is the physical or virtual device that you select above.
