Question / Help No audio in preview from media file

I have an avermedia card on order. I installed OBS studio and I'm trying to play around with just a media file to get to know the program. But it won't play the audio, though I see the media source level meter moving up/down.

Should I be able to hear the audio, or is something wrong?

Looking in the log file I see 2 possibilities:

[CoreAudio encoder]: CoreAudio AAC encoder not installed on the system or couldn't be loaded

and

LoadLibrary failed for 'nvEncodeAPI.dll', error: 126

I think I uploaded the log file, but I can't tell if it worked.

Any ideas?

After looking further, it appears that I posted in the wrong forum, I've been using obs STUDIO and this is the expected behavior - i.e. they haven't implemented audio for media files yet.
