Question / Help No audio in my recorded games when I play it in Pinnacle Studio 16?

So I recently made the switch from FRAPS to OBS and I've only found one problem. I'll record a video and when I play it in something like windows media player, it has full audio, but when I import it into Pinnacle Studio 16, then it will not even recognize that there is any audio at all.

I tried a few different troubleshooting fixes, here are my results:

- Converting the raw file from .mp4 to .wmv

This worked, everything is fine and the audio is present even in the video editor. BUT this doubles the production time of a video so I would really like to not have to do this method

-Converting the raw file from .mp4 to .mp4

This worked, again, it takes a while to convert so i would rather not have to do this...

BUT WAIT A SECOND- If the raw .mp4 file didn't have audio in pinnacle studio 16, then why did the converted .mp4 video work? Aren't they the same file type? I went deeper into the properties of each one to see for myself. This is what I found: http://i.imgur.com/Oydp1E6.png

The raw video straight from OBS is missing it's audio channels and it's audio sample rate. I don't know what that means, but if those things are missing and the audio is missing in pinnacle studio 16, I can't help but think that there is a correlation here

Sounds like your Pinnacle Studio software is having trouble playing AAC audio in an MP4 container? You can use something like ffmpeg to remux the audio/video into a different container without re-encoding the entire thing, or try using MP3 audio instead of AAC.
