No audio in browser source when using "Control audio via OBS"

When adding a browser source that plays music, using the "Control audio via OBS" option results in OBS capturing no audio. Unticking the option plays through the monitoring device as usual, so the webpage is verified as playing the audio. But when the control option is ticked, the audio meter shows no indication of audio playing, and monitoring via the audio advanced properties plays no audio.

If anyone runs into this I was able to kind of workaround this by unclicking "control audio via OBS" and adding an audio output capture for now, but it isn't ideal since it could capture more than I want it to.

Also, FWIW, the same exact setup of the browser source works fine on my Mac - "control audio via OBS" captures the browser audio as a source as expected.

Does anyone have any ideas on this? This is still an issue with my setup that I've yet to resolve and it's a thorn in my side.
