Bug Report No audio from spotify only

Hi,

Firstly I'd like to say thanks for this great software!

I have had great success with getting good quality and everything is working perfectly apart from getting no audio from spotify.

I have an Asus Xonar Essence ST sound card and a USB Bluemic microphone set up. I have all my sound going to my headphones only, I have no speakers. I can hear Spotify, in-game sound, sound from chrome and everything basically!, all going through my headphones.
Every source gets picked up and successfully streamed through OBS APART from Spotify.
I have searched far and wide but it seems that no one is having the same issue.

I hope someone here has a solution for me!

I have the exact same problem, everything works fine and all my sound appart from the spotify sound works on the stream. How can I make my spotify sound register? Thanks

I'm not sure if it matters but try running OBS as administrator, also does this happen in both the 32 and 64 bit versions of OBS?

Yea, I have heard of this problem with spotify, but I unfortunately don't know what's going on. Outside of the admin thing (not sure if that will change anything), I do have two theories though:
1.) It's enabling some music DRM thing so that sound cannot be captured from that application, or
2.) It's using OpenAL or something and bypassing the windows mixer

other than that, not entirely sure, perhaps others who do have it working can give more info
