Bug Report No Audio :( [fixed but confused]

I've been trying for a few days now to get obs to record audio..Its worked perfectly fine for me in the past, I have no idea what has caused this issue and I dont have a log from previously using it. this is a log from today after messing around with settings. When I press record it shows that sound is being recorded both for my mic (bluesnowball) and my desktop (realtec) Any suggestions to get it to record audio again?

Re: No Audio :(

You have it set to "stereo mix" on your sound card, which means you're using an input device for desktop audio. Instead, turn "use input device for desktop audio" off, and see if that helps at all.

By the way, monitor capture is causing you to majorly lag. I would recommend either using another capture type, or disabling aero.

Desktop was just a test, i dont think it would affect the sound..and i just tried it. still nothing
also this is for recording only not streaming.

Re: No Audio :(

Is there a reason you need low-bitrate MP3 audio? AAC audio will work a lot better.

How are you testing to see if there's audio? Does the bar under the volume meter move when sounds are played?

I am recording short 1 or 2 minute videos of me and some friends on skype using desktop capture. The bar under the volume meter indeed moves but when i hit play on the recording there is no sound. I havent tried uploading it youtube to see if that somehow fixxes the problem..but im doubtful

Re: No Audio :(

When you say "hit play on the recording", what are you using to play back the video?

If changing to AAC made it work, I'm guessing it's a codec issue with whatever you were using to play the video back.
