Nikon Webcam Utility not letting me utilize HD resolutions?

Hey, all, I'm trying to do some recording via hooking my DSLR (a Nikon D7500) to my computer via a USB, utilizing Nikon Webcam Utility to connect everything. However, no matter what settings I fiddle with, whether it be on the camera or in OBS, it doesn't seem to let me go above 960x540 resolution. I'm using a Mac, OBS 26.0.2. Appreciate the help!

I'm a Canon user, so can't be sure (and I'll let you do your own research).. but are you sure Nikon's software even enables higher resolution output ? Canon (and I suspect others) went for mass compatibility, and the CPUs on these older cameras wasn't meant for being a webcam, so doesn't have CPU horsepower to compress high res video over USB2 connection

so, before spending too much time on OBS settings, be sure first to check what resolution Nikon's software can output
