Newbie: Verify setup?

Hi everyone,

TL;DR: signal chains (?) are hard and I would love confirmation that I've set this up right.

I'm brand-new to OBS and trying to figure out the best way to set up my mic so that everything travels through OBS to WebEx Teams/Webex, Jabber, Zoom, Slack, etc. I've read several guides and every time I think I make some progress, I end up more confused than I was before. lol
I've tried using Voicemeeter Banana but found my gain was way too high despite turning it all the way down on my audio interface; additionally, their gating feature didn't work at all--had it set at 10 and still was getting a crapton of background noise and hiss.
So--now I'm trying to set up OBS without Voicemeeter using this article: https://streamgeeks.us/how-to-connect-zoom-obs/

Current setup:
  • Cheap condenser mic from Amazon
  • Behringer U-phoria UM2 USB audio interface
  • Dell laptop w/ Win10 x64
  • VB-Audio cables (A + B)
  • OBS 26.1.1
Screenshot time!

OBS -> Advanced Audio Properties
(edit: I just turned all of these to Monitor (Mute Output) and I can still hear myself talking. What am I missing?)

One thing I've noticed is, if I change my OBS monitoring device to Virtual Audio Cable B (which seems like that's what it should be??) I can't hear anything.
As far as I can tell the mic seems to be set up; I can hear myself talk.

...I don't know. Feels like I'm missing something here. Thanks in advance, everyone!
