Newbie question please. How do I record gameplay to show the entire game screen that I'm seeing?

When playing DayZ I can see the health metrics along the bottom of the screen, but they are cut off in the recording. It's probably simple, but I am a newbie's newbie. Thanks for any help.

Make sure your Windows desktop resolution is the same as the game resolution, as well as the OBS canvas resolution (OBS settings→Video→Base (Canvas) resolution. From your description it might be the game resolution is bigger than the OBS canvas resolution.
The best resolution is probably the native monitor resolution, usually 1920x1080.
