Newbie need help

Hello all, thank you for having me here I have some issues in regards to setting up OBS for Youtube.

I recently created a Youtube channel to do podcasting, I tried to do a tester and realised I can't do it without video camera, I googled and seen a Reddit post in which OBS was mentioned so I googled and installed OBS via this site obsproject.com.

I have OBS installed and looked through some videos about getting set up and yet I'm still having issues, when I go to stream section of my Youtube account it asks for some footage and I'm unsure on how to actually do that, and it gives me a code via Youtube but I can't find anywhere on OBS to put in this code, and when I tell OBS to record or stream my Youtube doesn't show it.

I think I've missed something but I'm unsure as to what and any help would be greatly appreciated.

And please excuse my ignorance but I don't know what a log file is, I hope this doesn't make this question be ignored

Please post a log with your issue! Here's how...

OBS Studio creates a log file each time you run it which contains very useful diagnostic information. Without a log file, it's much harder for any support volunteers to figure out problems and your post may be ignored. To upload a log file, go to the Help menu > Log Files > Upload Last Log...
