Question / Help *NEW USER* Gameplay and Mic audio not recording HELP

I recently downloaded OBS with the intent to use it for Game Commentary videos on YouTube (such as Pewdiepie, I'm sure most of you will recognize the name). I used a tutorial I found to get it all set up and it works recording-wise, the screen capture is very clear and it saves files just fine. But my problem now is that when I go to record, even though the audio bar moves showing that my mic/audio is working, the recording picks up absolutely nothing.

I tried testing out different options in the settings and went from testing game audio to music on my computer then YouTube audio, but there's still nothing. And having my mic work is a big thing for what I'm aiming to do (on top of the fact that I do plan to stream sometimes, so it's kind of important).

Any help would be appreciated, I'm completely new to OBS as well as most PC gaming needs. Clear instructions (noob-level) would be much appreciated as well!

These are my audio settings:

Is this what you mean by "OBS main window"?

And here is a video sample. As you can see I opened up a game (Amnesia: The Dark Descent) and what I just discovered, that I think is odd but maybe it isn't.. is that when I watch the video on my computer; no sound. After uploading this video, there is. Is that normal??

Looks like your local video player isn't setup to output audio to the default/correct playback device or it's somehow muted.. Try the file with another player such as VLC media player.

Btw, for high quality low file size local recording create the following profile.
-Change the quality to 10 and the buffer size to 0
-Set the fps to 30
-Keep the resolution at 720p
-Use game capture instead of monitor capture

And use this to estimate your streaming profile settings. https://obsproject.com/estimator
