and I want to understand what I am doing wrong or it is not possible at all. I want to stream myself playing SecondLife, which I see a lot of people doing, but I thought I could watch myself playing while streaming without having to be seen. Am I supposed to start the game and just play it blind hoping that I am streaming correctly? This is all new to me or at this point, I am just too old.....lol Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

What is common is to capture the Game (Game Capture, Display Capture, or Window Capture)...
Then, as a Source, have a video camera (webcam or better) pointed at yourself, then in OBS Studio Source list you have that personal cam view listed above the Screen capture in the Source list (what is listed higher is on top of what is below) ... this give you the Picture in Picture view
Personally, I prefer well edited documentation to videos... https://streamgeeks.us/ Online Resources (Free eBooks, also purchasable )
